Church And Schools 1905

I went to the school between 1965 -1968, the family then moved to Coventry. My name was Angela Holley and I would love to see any interior photos of the school. I do visit Farncombe a couple of times a year and take a walk down memory lane. As it is now a day centre I always wonder what it is like inside. Any photos would be lovely to see.

RE: RE: St Johns School

Hello Angela,
I also went to school next to Farncombe church, but left the school in 1958. Now the "school" is the back part where the elderly people live and is called "Bowring House" which was originally built in 1858, (Canon Bowring was the Rector of Farncombe from 1891 to 1918) but the front part, (opposite Farncombe Co-op), would be called the "Day Centre" where people have tea and coffee, and meals, and also hairdressing.
I also had an Aunt named Ethel Holley in Warren Road, Farncombe, but no longer alive.
I usually put the history of Farncombe at The Bury's in Godalming in early May for the "Spring Fair" which Farncombe Church has every year, for those who like to look for information, but usually only one day of the year. Jack Phillips of the "Titanic" was born in Farncombe Street, so this year the Phillips Memorial in Godalming has been cleaned up and put new roof tiles there, as well as the brass memorial on the wall in Farncombe church.
Best wishes,
Clive
