The Ship Hotel on the immediate left, with its decorated signboard and the golden cockerel trademark of Courage's brewery, was originally an Elizabethan hostelry. It was altered in the 18th century, but still retains an original Elizabethan plaster ceiling and timber beams. Almost opposite at No 121 is a plaster-fronted house bearing the date 1697.

I hope that anyone left of my family can read this, as now being 72 , I lost all track of coming to Kent.
My home town was Lytham St Annes where my mother lived and dad was in the RAF and met my mother there.
My Grand father was Alf Manuel of 1 Becket Street Faversham - not forgetting my Grandma of course.
