Davis Family History
I have been researching the Davis family, who lived on Feckenham Square for many years. My grandfather used to tell us that he remembers going to his grandparent's house when he was a boy in the early 1900s. I have found family members living here as early as 1861, although they certainly lived in the village before then. I live in Australia, and I would dearly love to see these places one day.

RE: RE: Davis Family History
Hi Gwyneth, For some reason the system won't let me send you a direct message, so I'm hoping maybe you'll read this. I have Davis ancestors from Inkberrow, and a distant cousin has taken the tree back to Arthur Davis born c1649. Any further information most welcome. I am descended from Pool Field Davis, born 1820, known as The Great Grenadier because of his height, who fought in the Crimean War. His father was Thomas Davis, sculptor and stonemason, born 1791. Cheers, Linda

RE: RE: Davis Family History
Hi, my grandmother's maiden name was Davis, she grew up in Feckenham and I did too. Her father, Arthur Davis used to run the football club and half of the Feckenham team at the time was made up of Davis's. In fact, I remember my grandmother showing a newspaper article to me about a cricket match that was played between Feckenham and the Davis's. I have relatives still with the Davis name who live around the area. I know my grandmother had a family tree that she showed to me before she died and a lot of old photos of Feckenham and of her family. I'll have to do some more research.

RE: RE: Davis Family History
Hi to all who have commented !
It seems that private messages don't always get through. So I am happy to hear from all who have tried to make contact.
Peter, I would love to compare notes, as it seems we share Arthur Davis as an ancestor. My grandfather Percy was a keen footballer, and always kept up with Aston Villa until he died. Would love to know which of the Davis girls was you grandmother. I have quite an extensive tree on Ancestry which I will happily share with you.
Gwyneth and Linda, not sure about a connection with your families. All mine seemed to live in Feck and Astwood Bank, but who knows, perhaps we all descend from one of the Inkberrow Davis families.

RE: RE: Davis Family History
Hi, just wanted to say I grew up in Inkberrow from aged 7 to 24 (my family moved there in about 1973) and I had good friends called Davis from Inberrow . I also am in contact with a Davis from Feckenham.
