Felstead Mill 1891
In the 1891 and 1901 one of my ancestors, George Mott, was a miller at Felstead Mill. He had 3 daughters and 1 son. His wife Althea died in 1898. Perhaps she played the piano, and is the ghost!! George later married Naomi Boreham, who had been a cook at the mill.

RE: RE: Felstead Mill 1891
My great-grandfather, Amos Baker, worked at Felsted Mill between about 1860 and 1875 approx. He and his wife Charlotte and family lived at nearby Mill Cottage. My grandmother Ada Baker and her brothers and sisters were born there. Two of the boys died young - one drowned in the mill stream and the other was killed by a runaway horse - although I do not know their names. The other children were Rose, Charlotte, Jessie, Julia, Arthur and Samuel. I believe Amos's brother Jonathan Baker also worked at the mill. I have some very old pictures of the mill and the family.
