Ferndown Zoo
I don't remember the year but I think it was in the 1950s. Where exactly was the Ferndown Zoo? I have a photo of one of my cousins taken with a goat. I really don't remember much about it, I just know I went at least three times. Please help.

RE: RE: Ferndown Zoo
Ferndown Zoo was privately owned I believe, and was situated along Glenmoor Road. I was taken there in a pushchair when I was about three years old...early 1950's. I was too young to remember much about it, but that's where my mother tells me it was.

RE: RE: Ferndown Zoo
Trevor, thank you so much for that, at least someone else remembers it. I do have more info. It was either owned by, or was sold to, Gerald Burrel of the Channel Island Zoo. It was made into a housing estate, but I need to look up my records as I do not remember the details. I got the information from Wimborne Information Centre. Does your mother have any photos? Yours Joyce Cox
