More about this scene

Church Approach c1955. The Tudor houses which line the approach to the church of St Thomas a Becket make this corner of Framfield one of the most attractive scenes in East Sussex. The church, originally built in 1288, was one of the first to be dedicated to Becket. It was gutted by fire in 1509 and had to be rebuilt.
