Norfolk memories
I have very fond memories of holidays spent with my Aunt Susan Parkinson and my cousins Jane and David Boggia and their daughters Mel and Bev. We had a wonderful english teacher, Mr Troman, who installed in me a great love of the language and its literature. We nicknamed him HUDDY Because of his teaching. Forty years later I was inspired to write, and have printed a history of our family during the depression years.

Garboldisham is steeped in ancient history: there is a defensive earth work here known as the Devil's Dyke, and a mound traditionally supposed to be the grave of Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni. It is difficult to imagine that this peaceful village was a market town in the Middle Ages.

East Anglia Photographic Memories
The tiny village of Garboldisham on the Norfolk / Suffolk border has many houses made of the knapped flint which is so characteristic of the area. Here, the most distinctive element of the photograph is the two tall petrol pumps at the local garage.

Norfolk - A Second Selection Photographic Memories
This small village is on the busy Diss to Thetford road. It has a number of attractive buildings of knapped flint - the garage is a prime example. The lorry driver is paying for his fuel, which has been dispensed from one of the huge petrol pumps.
