Glenboig in The 1970s
I was brought up in Glenboig. We moved to England in 1973, however I have great memories. I remember going to the old St Joseph' School that sank, so we had to go to St Barbara's in Muirhead. I made my holy communion in the old chapel next to the old school. We stayed in the old pre-fabs and then went to live in Easdale Path. I can remember the gas houses being built. My twin brother and I had many friends in Glenboig. I get a lump in my throat every time I come back.

RE: RE: Glenboig in The 1970s
I was born in Garnqueen Square, Glenboig in 1952 and went to Our Lady and St Josephs Primary School in Chapelbank, I moved to Moodiesburn in 1959, many of my family still live in Marnoch, The Walshes, McIlroys and Elliots. I have many happy memories of my childhood escapades down at the loch and also going up the Inchny. I still return to the village from time to time to visit relatives and reminisce about the old days. Like Mr Christie I still get a lump in my throat every time I visit.
