First House

In this picture I lived in the house with the porch sticking out, just past the pub THE BLACK BULL (white building). Up the side of my house, or country cottage as it was termed, was a slaughter house at the back.  I worked in Patons & Baldwins in Darlington textile mill as a woolsorter.

RE: RE: First House

I have recently discovered that my 3x grt grandfather and his descendants were the innkeepers of the Black Bull , and the village butchers, for at least 50 years from 1851 - 1901 (the BANKS family) and would like to know more about them, the pub, the butchers & the village!! Photos, historical info
There were BANKS butchers in the area also till around 1924 as well.

Anything welcome!!
