Trouble Tut'mill
Whilst this isn't actually one of my recollections, I do know that Haddenham had at least two mills. One of them being owned back in 1809 by Messrs William and Robert Pate. My Gtx5 Grandfather, Philip Newman was a miller at their mill but unfortunately got 'caught in the workings' and was accidentally killed. Pretty gruesome really - no wonder he was buried the next day.
I'm unsure as to whether this mill is 'killer mill' or whether it was the other mill. I believe that only one is standing today.

RE: RE: Trouble Tut'mill
Hi, I have been doing research into my family history at Haddenham. I found a book all about Haddenham and its past in the records office and read it. I have been trying to find it to buy as I know there were 9 copies still left but cannot now find them. The book is called 'Haddenham A Parish History'. You may be interested in looking at it in the records office. I have been researching Porter name as that is my family. Unfortunately I have now got a terminal illness so am trying to do as much as I can for the family that come after us. I was fortunate that in Haddenham there is so much history of our family. It was intersting to read your comment on the web. Take Care Carole
