Breakspear House c1965

My father used to be the Officer in Charge here when it was an old people's home - we used to live in the cottage just before the dovecote. When we lived there Kath and Ian used to live in the Upper Lodge which was directly on the entrance to the road to Breakspear House. I have very few 'photos of Breakspear House as I lived here from the ages of 7 to 13. I have very happy memories of my time there.

RE: RE: This Was my Home.

Does anyone know about the past of Breakspear House or about it being haunted? I was a security guard at night in the 1990s. The house was at that time in a dilapidated state and it was well known by all of us guards that unexplained things used to happen. I myself witnessed several things, footsteps in the rooms above me at night you could hear, I had something whisper HELLO into my ear one night, and sometimes you could hear laughing.
My guard dog would not go near the cellars at all or near the clock tower, I have even had the room go icy cold very quickly and again the dog wanted out, and myself and other guards have seen the woman staring out of the window on the top floor. It was really a very unpleasant place to be at night on your own.
