Wilma Rutherford
Does any one have any memories of a Wilma Rutherford? She was a friend of my mother's and I would love to hear any memories of her.
Looking For Jean Laverick (maiden Name)
Does anyone know of Jean Laverick and her two sisters (Margaret and Anne) who lived in Holystone, Whitley Bay in the late 1940s? We were the NZ family who lived down the road and we played and went to Sunday School together. I would love to have contact with Jean and any member of her family after all these years. I shall be in Northumberland in June this year (2012) and it would be wonderful to meet up again. Ngaire (Atkinson)

Highlander Garage
I worked at the Highlander Garage which was situated next door to the Highlander Pub from 1967 until 1971. I worked along with John Burton and Norman Redpath and enjoyed my time there. The customers were farming people from around the area as well as business men and retired military officers enjoying the tranquility of the country life. Most of the regular customers became friends and it was a sad day when the business was sold and life moved on. John died in1981 and his wife Olive moved to Newcastle to live with her sister and sadly did not leave an address for me to keep in touch. Happy days... Kev.

My memories of Pigdon are of the woods, family and fun. My parents, my brother and myself camped there with aunties, uncles and cousins. We always took great care to clear up after ourselves. We had the best times playing there. Unfortunately my parents are no longer alive, cousins have moved to other areas and one uncle has passed on too. My childhood weekends were mostly spent in the woods at Pigdon and the memories are so precious. The wonderful river that runs through the woods, it's funny, I know that it is icy cold but back then I didn't notice. The beautiful bluebells in spring were spectacular. I believe this is where I developed my love of this flower. Even as a child I was able to appreciate the carpet of deep blue. I would dearly love to visit Pigdon woods again and bring my grandchildren, show them the places where I played as a child, even better to make some memories with them. Not of camping of course,... I attended this school somewhere around 1955-1957. Does anyone remember those years especially if you were in Pennine house dormitory?
Teachers as I remember were Bradbury, Barker & Craig for the girls dorms and Commander and Mrs Redman were the Heads [I think]!

My Happy Years
I attended Brownrigg from 1980 - 1985. I look back on those years with great joy (all though not at the time), throughs long summers and endless winters. I made a great many friends. I sometimes wish I could turn the clock back. I especially remember the teachers and staff, Mr Walton (headmaster), crazy man, Mr Bell (minty), hard but fair, Mr Main the next headmaster, Mr Barker music teacher), and my old foe Mr Jameson (maths teacher), always catching me having a smoke. As for the staff there was Harry and Hilary (caretakers), Sandra in the kitchen, and my old mate Roy (sparrow ) Desmond who has sadly passed away. I will look back on those years with great fondness. I have many happy memories to look back on, far too many to mention. People who read this may not recognize my name but they may remember my nickname (CHIPPY), regards, Michael Imrie.
