One of my Favourite Fishing Spots
There used to be a bridge over the river here, but the bridge was blown up by the army around 1958. It was a fantastic sight and we rushed over to the river after the explosion to see all the dead fish.
Molesey Road
Not many cars about, not like now. What a wonderful happy place to live where everyone said 'Good morning', unlike now where everybody is too busy with life to take time out and smile. All we do is moan about this and that, smile it will make a difference to everyone. Bring good old Hersham back to being a fun place to live.
Family Tree Research
Not really a memory. I was wondering if anybody has any information on the Mortimer family that lived at Molesley Close, Hersham round about the 1920's. I am researching the family tree and any information would be very helpful. My e-mail address is speedygonzalees@btinternet.com Many thanks.
Surrey memories
Saturday Morning
What fun was had by many children on a Saturday morning by going to the picture house. There were two in Walton so we were spoilt for choice. The ladies that looked after us all did a grand job. I was allowed to get the 218 bus from the barley mow bus stop. l felt really grown up - l could only have been 10 or 11.
Saturday Morning
This is one of the picturehouses that we could choose from on a Saturday. Many a happy Saturday morning was spent here with lots of children, with not a lot of pocket money!
United Dairies Walton on Thames
I remember the restaurant at the United Dairies in Walton where I used to have lunch.
Restaurant in Walton On Thames High Street
As a child we used to go to eat at a restaursant in Walton on Thames High Street, it was where Zio Toto's now is roughly, and in the 1960s it was United Dairies. I'm thinking it was maybe French or something along those lines and I am desperately searching for the name of it - can anyone can help?
