Birthplace

I was born in 1945 in High Wycombe (which I don't remember!) in a nursing home called The Shrubbery... Has anyone heard of the place, know where it was, have any pics?

RE: RE: Birthplace

I too was born in the Shrubbery in 1966. The Shrubbery has now been demolished (circa 2000 I believe) and is now the site of small flats and houses.

I was born there too, in 1961.

RE: RE: Birthplace

My mother was born in the Shrubbery in 1960. I'm sad to hear it was demolished as I am traveling to High Wycombe at the end of May and was hoping to visit it.

My Nana and the rest of my family grew up in Wycombe after leaving London during the war. I hear it was a fantastic place to live.

I cannot wait to visit it. :)

RE: RE: Birthplace

I was born in the Shrubbery in 1972.

I was led to believe that the site of which it used to be was on land that was just beyond one of the cemeteries in High Wycombe on a hill.

My nan is buried in that cemetery & if anyone would happen to know the name of it I would be grateful.
