Such A Shame It's Gone😟

A Memory of Hoylake.

Loved this hotel and knew the then managers daughter Janet Humphries ( went to Minto House) in 70's fabulous memories of very happy times spent there - then when Flat Foot Sams opened it was the place to be be seen - handy as lived just down the road so sad to see the horrendous flats now in its place

What a lovely photo of the Stanley hotel in Hoylake. My mum was receptionist their and I used to play with the owners daughter Moira Salmon but that was earlier in the fifties. When they were building the flats we called them Colditz but in fairness they are lovely inside.
My Aunt and Uncle had The Stanley Hotel around the 1980s and my brother and I run around the grounds truefully I used to think I was a princess and The Stanley Hotel was my Palace... 😊
And if I remember rightly my Aunt and Uncle had the Coach and Horses, Moreton (village) Cross. That was before I was born... Well not much before as my parents had their wedding reception in the coach and horses.
Also mum had her maternity leave party... She worked at the Coach and Horses.
