Dots And The Hot Bread Shop. 3 Jays Never Say Die Pub

As a young person we went to Jaywick every year for a holiday with my mum and dad.  We had great times, walked along the sea front and went to Clacton and always went to the Three Jays.  We stopped in Meadow Way.  I went back with a friend who also had holidays in Jaywick as a kid and it seemed very run down.  We are going back again this year to see how it is being refurbished.   Terry Webb.

RE: RE: Dots And The Hot Bread Shop. 3 Jays Never Say Die Pub

I too went to Jaywick but only to see the seafront when I stayed in Clacton back in the 70's but never went into the three Jays in all the years that I went to Clacton and Jaywick.
But when I started to go back to Clacton in 2004 and have been going back every year since, I walked down along the seafront to Jaywick and up to the 3 Jays and for the first time, even I went in, I was somewhat took back by how it looked inside.  Then, as a little boy back in the 70's, the pub looked like a bit of a dump!!!  But not inside and I will remember the fact that in all the years that I had been going down to the coast, I only wished that I had gone into the pub before!!!
