Kent memories
Leybourne Grange Hospital
Does anyone have any memories of the Hospital Leybourne Grange in West Malling? I worked there from 1974 - 1976 as a pupil nurse and lived in the nurses home. I know the hospital closed years ago and is now a site for housing I believe. I would love to share your memories. Ann
The Haven Cafe
The Haven was built by my grandfather, Walter Butler, for his wife - Rosie. I'm trying to source photos and memories of the cafe for my dad, Ronald Butler. He has wonderful memories himself and grew up there. If you've anything to offer, please let me know!
Clare Park
I lived in Larkfield but have very fond memories of Clare Park Secondary School. I only went there up to 4th year as in July 1980 we emigrated to Australia. I can remember the cross country run in the middle of winter and trying to not slip on the ice. I can remember Mr Derfell as a teacher, and old Mrs Potters? gardening hut. And sneaking off to the chippy at lunch time to get hot chips instead of school dinners.
Childhood
My name is Gail Godden, formally Morris, my father was Tony (Anthony Morris), my mother Eugene (Jean Morris). My father and I were both born at No. 6 Church Row, West Peckham, we moved to No. 2 Church Row. West Peckham has a strong pull in my heart as my father named Morris was in fact a Glover, I have no history on this side of the family at all!
We were very involved with cricket on the green and the Swan pub, I was only small so it is difficult to recall! We shared a lot of time with the landlord's boys, Jean Conker and recall special times with Alan and Doug!
I have photos of the area and would love to share them with interested parties.
My Auntie (Daphne Erwick) lived in a house that was at the back of the pub until it burnt down, not sure when!
I laid my dad to rest (Tony Morris) at St Dunstan's in 1997.
Bunting's Estate, New Hythe Lane
Our first house was in River Way and we moved in in January 1964 with our baby son.
It was cold and being "brand new" the house was still drying out, so condensation was a problem.
Happy days!

The Barming Boys
The Barming Boys hang around at clair park they are very nice people. Alot say they are the toughest around because they are if they get in to a fight they will always win. The Best one Is Matt he is cool, he cheers people up when they are down.
Sad Days
Unfortunately Barming doesn't go down well in my memories, I was only a child but I remember going with my dad and brother to what I thought was a hospital but it wasn't, my mother was locked up there several times and I found out much later she is a manic depressive and it was an asylum she was in called Oakwood, does anyone else remember this place?
