The Fighting Cocks Jazz Club London Road

This pub was a venue for jazz enthusiasts for as long as I can remember, my friends and I used to go there most weeks while we were still at school. Happy memories.

RE: RE: The Fighting Cocks Jazz Club London Road

I remember going there in the early sixties. I did not go in the pub but straight behind to the hall. My boyfriend used to meet me inside so he did not have to pay for me too. However, I did meet my future husband there. We also went to the Jazz Boat 'Roland' an old Thames Barge moored along from the Odeon. Trad jazz was the best (not keen on modern jazz) I remember being told to stop stomping at the Coronation Baths, as the floor was laid over the first class baths during the winter months. Lovely memories.
