Laleham Abbey School
I was at Laleham Abbey School from 1955-7 I remember the name Tania Morley. I think I may have been in her class. Sister Constancia was the head when I went there and Mother Sarah was Superior. She was succeeded by Mother Marie Louise. Sister Marianna was head when I left in 1957. It would be good to hear from other ex-puils, somewhere I have photos, including some of Corpus Christi processions. I have an old B&W school brochure.

RE: RE: Laleham Abbey School
Yes, I remember Margaret Morley and have some photos - of you and Tania, but we can't post our own photos onto this website. I was at school at Laleham Abbey for two years around 1953/55. I remember Sister Pauline who was my form teacher and Sister Marianna who also sparked my love of music and taught me piano. But my favourite was Sister Barbara - a novice at first who was made a nun while I was there. I think it was because she was Scottish and we had just arrived from Glasgow, having lost our mother. What about Miss Lawson the matron of the nursery? Very strict, but funny and kind. Happy memories of playing on the Crucifix Lawn, and going for walks by the river and listening to Children's Favourites on the radio on Saturday mornings in Cana. And tuck - with the begging plea of "Are you feeling spare?" by those who were being punished by having their tuck stopped for a couple of days. Barbara Walker (younger sister of Eileen)

RE: RE: Laleham Abbey School
I was at Laleham Abbey school (School of the Holy Child) 1950-1954/55. My name then was Veronica Locke. I remember Margaret Morley, we were in the same class and I have a photo of you with Mr Slowcome the tortoise. Other people I remember are Tania Morley, Rhona Gracie, Barbara Algie, Patricia Walton, Penelope Sneddon and some whose names I cannot remember. Sister Constancia was head, Sister Pauline, Sister Margaret Rose, Sister Marianna who also taught me to play the piano but I was never very good! Sister Barbara was I think everybody's favourite! The games we played and climbing the cedar tree. Father ? who bought us apples during break time. Nativity plays and Corpus Christie procession scattering flowers. Having to walk around the cloister as punishment. So many memories come flooding back as I read other comments.
