Living at Latimer Village
I lived in Hollytree Cottage during the sixties, and was christened at St. Mary Magdalen Latimer. My father worked for Lord Chesham. Our house used to be the Cavendish Arms, a pub at one time. Many of the staff from the big house lived in the village after retiring at that time. We had a good village shop and everyone was very friendly.

RE: RE: Living at Latimer Village
My father was born in Latimer 30s and along with his brother and my grandparents lived in The Kennels along Green Lane - opposite the "camp". As a child from 1970 until 1971 my mother and father, myself and sister all stayed with "granny" until we moved north. My Grandmother was a ladies maid for Lord Chesham and grandfather was the butler. They lived in the Kennels as it was a tied house. My Uncle loved the village very much. Both my grandparents are buried in the latimer church yard. I have some very special memories of Latimer village - I used to walk to school, and there was a huge number of service people still living there - even so long after the war
I would love to get in touch with other staff of Lord Cheshams perhaps who would remember my family.
Both my uncle and father have died and I would like to give something to the village in their memory - any contact with the parish council would be appreciated.
