Argyle Street

Does anyone remember 'Argyle Street', I used live there as a young girl, now Sainsburys stands on that site in Belgrave. I would love to see any old photos if anyone has any of old Belgrave and the roundabout. It would be really appreciated.

RE: RE: Argyle Street

Thank you Paul. My grandma lived at 210 Argyle Street, her name was Maud Turner and my dad's name was Trevor. I was 7 years old when we left to live on a new estate as they were pulling that street down.

I lived at 3 Argyle Street when I was 7, I'm now 65 and live in Canada, great memories of those days, still remember a few names.

Hi, Sorry I am not able to offer additional information, however would like to ask if any one remembered the Bell Hotel in Leicester? It was pulled down at the end of 1969/70 I believe and I am trying to trace a possible family member who worked there as a chef/porter. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Tina Harrison

RE: RE: Argyle Street

My grandma lived at 93 Argyle Street and I was 7 when they moved us out and demolished the street. My great grandparents lived in Dorset Street and Gresham Street, I now frequently visit that area as a district nurse and my job brings back many memories.
