RE: RE: Wherabouts...

Lower Street appears in the early census returns for Llanfyllin. It no longer exists, having been renamed Bridge Street. The street runs off High Street at the western end of the town, close to the parish church of St Myllins. The Cain Valley Hotel stands on the corner of Bridge Street. On the corner of the building in Bridge Street, above head high, is a blue plaque giving the old street name (Stryd Isa - Lower Street). My great-great-great-grandfather ran various pubs in Lower Street in the early to mid 1800s.
