Port Regis Delicate School For Girls
A Memory of Broadstairs.
i to went to this place,i was not abused myself, however the treatment was harsh, and i remember the girl standing under the fireplace being violently sick, as she had to eat the food that she had not eaten the day before, she was then made to clean it up herself, spent three weeks in the freezing winter in a room with the window wide open, witha person called katherine or kathleen she was bandaged head to toe,and i never saw her any other way, or if she even got ot of bed,we did go down to the beach out through a side gate, and spent the some of the summer on the beach, very little education, and strict rules were always enforced,or you suffered the consequences, S A RESULT I SOON LEARNED TO TOE THE LINE,i went for recovery of reheumatic fever, and later for being underweight,it did not cure me,they were not all bad memories, but it was a dark and depressing place, on entering written on the gate was a home for raggedy girls, what a welcome.my name then was sandra mills, now sndra popple
