A Memory of Combe Down.

There was a man called Mr Cole that lived along North Road pass the Horseshoe, both his children went to Combe Down Junior School. The girl was called Rebecca, but I cannot remember the boy's name. The father always took pictures and I am sure he must have a collection of them somewhere, it would be great to see them. I did have some old postcards, but stupidly disposed of them.
I love living in Combe Down.

Hi Julie, as an ex- Combe Downer I too recall the family and the gentleman in question Mr Coles, I have a name in my head that reads Gerrard whether this is the father or the son I can't recall... Know you posted this some time ago but have only just found this site myself. Julian Dallimore, Hull, East Yorkshire.
Hello. Mr Coles is the subject of my family history research. One of my relatives married a Cyril Cole, son of John Coles who is stated on Cyril's marriage certificate aged 22 years as being Kingham Farm, Combe Down, Bath. Does anyone know exactly which property this is, and does anyone have a photo of the house or better still the Coles family? My relative Lilian Curthoys married Cyril Aug 4th 1944 in Bristol. This marriage was dissolved a few years later and she married again in 1958. I don't know what happened here, anyone?

Lily is still alive (in her 90s now) living in a home with no working memory so I can't find out anything from her sadly. I'm doing the research on behalf of the wider family as she had no children.

Best wishes,
