Corination Park

A Memory of Crosby.

A great place to grow up. All day when off school, girls and boys would play manhunt and see who could go the highest on the swings. The park keeper Jock; we'd hide when it was time to close the park. Paddling in the boating lake... great times.

I lived opposite Moorside Park, so spent much of my childhood in there, as we were allowed to wander free in the 60s! The parky, Jim was strict and used to get really cross with us for playing 'in the bushes'. I feel sorry now because he was a decent bloke, just trying to do a good job. But we weren't bad kids - never deliberately damaged anything. A few years later, the municipal park funding all but evaporated and that destroyed his hard work in short order.
