A Memory of Dagenham.

Would this be the same church where my Dagenham ancestors were baptised, married and buried between 1850s & 1920s or was there an earlier church? Is the church graveyard still there or was it relocated? It's my dream to visit someday ... even if the village is no more (so sad). I have many family ties to the area up til WW1 (Warrens & Kendricks to name two).Donna Henley (nee Warren)

hi there Donna,
there was no earlier church so its most likely your ancestors were baptized at this church(the church of st peters and pauls). the church is still surviving and is located in Crown Street. The church graveyard is still there and has not been relocated but has stopped accepting further burials from the 1990s. apart from the church, the vicarage, and the cross keys pub, most of the 400-year-old buildings were razed to the ground in the 1960s/70s to make way for the terrible Ibscott estate.

I hope i have been of some help.
