Street Party

A Memory of East Ham.

I am unable to say which street party this was for, either VJ or VE. Photo taken at Brampton Road. East Ham .E.6 London. My parents and Brother are featured, my brother being in Army uniform. My cousin Audrey and I are at the table on the right, inside seating. Sadly I can remember only a few of the children and adults. I hope the picture evokes more memories for the readers.

My 2 brothers and I were born in Brampton Rd. I was actually born in an air raid shelter in Aug. 1940. We were evacuated as my mother had a baby and 2 toddlers but we went back for the street parties in 1945. I would love to see your picture which did not show up with your "memory"
I am sorry that the photo did not appear. I guess I am not crash hot at this computer stuff. I will try again when I get the time. Would you be prepared to include your name and house number I may remember you. Joyce ( Kathleen Joyce Bones No 4 Brampton Rd.) I was born in 1938 in Whitechapel . We moved to Brampton Rd when I was about 3 I think .
Our last name was Crow. My mother Ruth and my father Leslie. My brothers were born in Brampton Rd in 1937 and 1938 and I was born in 1940 from #29, so we were all very young and we evacuated to Lancashire shortly after I was born.
Hi "turtlefing" I guess we missed each other , I would not have been in Brampton Road much before 1940 and would have been too young to have any memory of you or your brothers. Nice to hear from another Bramptonite though. I will try and get that photo on here at some time. Joyce.
Thanks for responding. I would love to see the photo.
if you have the photo digitally, maybe you could send it to my email: turtlefing@gmail.com
