Bon Dolphis Tea Shop

A Memory of Eastbourne.

Late 1940s vague recollection. Does the name Bon Dolphi ring a bell with anyone out there, as possibly a tea/cake shop, possibly down on sea-front ? I believe it was in Eastbourne but I was only a nipper at the time so could easily be mistaken.

Yes Bondolphis was a cake shop a superb continental one which was infact just off the seafront in Eastbourne, It was in operation well into the 1960's and is still a teashop but not owned by the same family, and the cakes are not quite so good. I visited it often during my youth and on visits from my home now in Australia
Bondolphis was a Swiss confisserie tea room on Cornfield Terrace.
