Enfield, 1901 Census, Durants Road.
A Memory of Enfield.
The 1901 census shows my grandad was living at 49 Durants Road Enfield with his wife and two children. His occupation is shown as Clerk at Electric Lamp Works.
Does anyone know the likely name and location of the Electric Lamp Works?

I was born in Alma Road and lived there until I married, aged twenty.
My mum used to work at a light bulb factory in Ponders End; not sure of the name but Edisons keeps coming into my mind.Anyway I remember the factory was over the level crossing at a place we called Spike Island.if you remember The Alma pub, the road along side the pub led to the crossing. It had a bridge over the railway line for pedestrians to cross by. The factory was close by another pub, which my dad frequented on a Saturday. I think my sister also worked at the factory for a short time. I used to go to Alma Road Infants and Junior School. Oh happy days
