More about this scene

Goring is a riverside village lying between the beech-clad hills of the Chilterns and the windswept slopes of the Berkshire Downs. The inn covered in ivy on the left of the photograph is the Miller of Mansfield, a famous pub in the Thames Valley. The coming of the railway and Goring's close proximity to the river helped put the village on the map around the turn of the century. The village is a pleasing mixture of brick and flint thatched cottages.
