My Grandad Hwood

A Memory of Heckmondwike.

I am the grandson of Harold Wood, the son of Enid his daughter, who is now the last desendent of H. Wood who is now 82.
My grandfather started the buseness in 1922 with one vehicle. In 1965 after building the business to over 500+ vehicles he retired.
In his retirement he enjoyed family holidays, his garden, jigsaws, the bigger the better, and cooking.
He was an active man with lots of hobbies until his death.

Hi my names Robert Jones and my dad used to drive for harrold woods tankers in hekmondwike in the 70's unfortunately he died whilst on at work. He was a distance driver and did the continent a lot and was away for weeks at a time. I was 5 years old when he died so only have vague memories of him and my mother recently passed away too and while she was alive she didn't like to talk about him. I would love to hear from anyone who new my dad and if there is any pictures of him as I know he was in a booklet for harrold woods. He died in 1978 his name was Micheal Walter Jones thank you in advance 🙂
