Hounslow

A Memory of Heston.

So enjoyed reading these memories - found the site by mistake! I used to live in the shop in Chapel Road and spent so many hours over Inwood Park playing on those parallel bars and the equipment there. Had a paddling pool there, and possibly boats. Have not been back to Hounslow since I left Bulstrode at the end of my O levels in 1960, so it's been such a revelation to read all these memories. Platts the department store seemed wonderful in those days. Can identify with so many of the memories mentioned; the rag and bone man where I used to take old clothes to make a bit of pocket money. Our best man, Malcolm Bickleys aunt and uncle started Platts store, at the end of Hounslow high street. They owned a house by the river in Shepperton/Walton
Area. My hubby went to many a grand party at that house. That was before my time! Any one remember Malcolm, John Macadam, Keith Spring or Jim Hamilton
All from Hounslow cricket and hockey club?
