About this photo

There has been a bridge over the Walkham here since the 11th century. Recent roadworks revealed within the existing structure a much earlier bridge, possibly medieval, around which the present bridge was built. Upstream (right) of the bridge is a weir, at which it is possible to see salmon leaping.
