Up Date Of Happy Days Gone By In Hounslow

A Memory of Hounslow.

A further up date of memories of Hounslow/Happy days Gone By.
The infant school was based on Martindale Road and was called Hounslow Heath Infant and Nursery School. My sister went to the Junior School in Trinity Close. The store on Barrack Road next to the junction of Martindale Road was owned by a family called the Smiths who I think were husband and wife and were in their late forties or fifties when I was a kid. It’s now called Barrack Superstore. I do not know if I mentioned about the chemist next door to the Hussar pub, well this is now called Stains Way Supermarket. It’s a shame that our history is fading fast as time goes by. Come to think of it, I remember when me and my sister used to take jam sandwiches and pop over to the infant part of the school on Martindale Road and climb the fence and sneak onto the playing fields to listen to the wireless and have a picnic. Those were the good old days.
