The Court School Of Dancing

A Memory of Lincoln.

I remember going to the court school of dancing in Park Street on a Saturday night and it was there that I met my husband, Roger. It was a great place to meet and have fun in the 60's - does anyone else remember it ?

Hello, my name is Pauline Darley and I was born at Lincoln County Hospital Sept. 24th, 1951. I lived at Moorland Ave. and went to Skellingthorpe Road Infant and Junior and then Boultham Moor Secondary for Girls. Can anyone out there remember the 11+ exam ? (I felt a complete failure after that). Does anyone remember the Adam & Eve, Green Dragon and a disco @ Birchwood. I live in Vancouver, B.C. now but I go back to Lincoln at least once-a-year (I still love the place and yes, I do remember the ballroom @ Park Lane, my sister went there with her net underskirts), My dad use to run a youth club @ St. Helen's, Skellingthorpe Rd. from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. His name was Harold Darley - does anyone remember him?
Hi, my name is Carol Ward nee Holman, I lived in Shannon Avenue and went to the same schools as you Pauline, but I am 7 years older than you, so our paths pprobably never crossed. Met my hubby at The Court school of dancing, lived on Birchwood, emigrated to Oz, Aunts and cousins in Vancouver surrounds.
Hi. My name is David Ingram. I'm heading back to Lincoln for a couple of days next week, not having returned since my family left there in the late 50's. I was born in Lincoln in '56. My dad, Stan Ingram, managed the Court School of Dancing and I note from this thread it was on Park Street.
This is a bit of a long shot but wondered whether anyone might remember wherabouts on Park Street The Court School of Dancing was? Looking on Google Maps there is a fair amount of new build around there so the building could be long since demolished?
Best wishes
Dave
