My mum grew up in Starfield Street, living, I think, above a laundry/wash house. Her surname was Cox and she had brothers, Tommy, Jimmy and Billy. I think the family lived there for 30 plus years until the middle 1960’s
My dad was born in Kensington and went to butler street school from late 40s to late 50s. His name is Kenneth jackson or just ken. He always talks of the happy days and all his friends. I grew up in Starfield Street which was next to Berwick. We lived there from 1951 till ‘66 when I left home for university. I had 2 sisters, Diane and Christine. I used to live in Rolfe Street off back Molyneux Road. The houses there now have the Beatles names.Such good memories Pebbles..Capaldi..Kenny Cinema many more. my Mum used to work in a fruit shop called Hurst's. I have tried to find old pics of Rolfe Street but no luck..so sad. my ex Husband used to live in Thornes road OPP Kenny library. so many memories xx

I was born in red rock street I have many lovely memories of my childhood there sadly my sister and I had to leave when our mother died we have never forgotten our time there and as we don't have anything from our time as a family there we do have the memories of family times there the corner shop was on the next block to us and the red rock pub was opposite to our house.we both attended white field road school
Happy memories! I was born in Liverpool, 1947, but my father moved us down to Plymouth in 1952, where I'm still living. Because of all my maternal relatives still living in Liverpool we'd make frequent visits and I have fond memories of the trams, the last one of which ran in September 1957, two years after this photo. I grew up in syren st , before mcanns had that that shop it was owned and run by the wariing familv (tom whose brother was a priest) and his mam and dad. I also went to st alexanders in st johns rd and I remember the hughes family in particular little anthoney who drowned in the canal. I grew up in Tillard St. Kirkdale. I remember we always had to use the back door when we left the house as kids, so the neighbours would not see we had no lino in the hall. (probably no body else had any anyway) I was a paper boy for Joe Ballard who owned a shop in Tillard St., he paid us ten bob a week.
