I was born in hope hospital in 1956, we lived at 49 Tatton Street with my gran, she was Emily Pearson, my mam was Doreen Pearson, till she married my dad Jim Scanlon. Does anyone have any memories of the area or photos please? We moved to Knutsford when I was 3-4 Dave Scanlon
There does not seem anything earlier than 1970s for West Asthton Street in Salford?I was living @ number 53 as a baby & can remember a bomb blowing out the cellar windows when they bombed Salford docks.My gran lived there & looked after me.For some reason mother took me to live in Hodge Lane & can remember sleeping under the table,it was while there was a Party going on In the room Well there was a War on.
I lived in West Ashton Street from 1948 to 1968 when I got married and left. I remember Elaine and Lucille who lived in George Henry Street and there was a family at the top of the street who emigrated to Australia. My maiden name was Hall and I had a brother Kenneth.
My husband did an apprenticeship at Salford Electrical Instruments. He worked there when they moved to Barton Lane in Eccles.
I was born in West Park St in 1939. I went to Ordsall school in Taylorson St.I went to St Clements Church and sang in the Choir .I was The Rose Queen in 1953.My dad was called Jim Cartwright and he played the piano at weekends in the local pubs.I have wonderful memories of my childhood .we spent many hours playing in Ordsall Park.We used to roller skate on Cavendish St because it was not cobbled like most of the streets ...see more
Hi Terrence I remember when you were born I have fond memories of living with your gran and grandad your mum took me to school on my first day I Ali remember your cousin David and auntie Alma I’m sure you may have photos when you were a baby I am probably in some of them I hope you are well I visited your gran years ago and your mum told me you were married and had a family Brenda Omullane (moss)

Hi my gran&,grandad lived on garfield street they were ann&,george Adamson related to the Graham's,& Phoenix families we spent many hours playing on the Croft opposite the docks .Joan dawson was my mums(,Eileen adamson)best friend &we called her auntie even though they weren't related someone posted &commented on tracy dawson she was one of the grahams do you remember The James pub round the corner of garfield street
My Grandparents Henry and Alice Dorning lived on Brighton Street which on trying to trace the existence of has proved to be a struggle. I remember visiting them with my parents at the age of 5-9 years of and at the time was not aware that they were considered as slums. I really enjoyed my visits to Salford. I lived in langdale house in early 60's ,moved there from hanky park .went to regent road school all happy memories, we moved then up to little hulton in 63 I now live in warrington but I always say I'm a salford lad .stewart brooks
