Great Days

A Memory of Scarborough.

I was also posted to Burniston Barracks from Catterick Camp with the Royal Signals 5 AA Signals Reg. as an OWL and was married just up the road from the barrack's at the local church.
Dickie Dors was the paymaster and also we had a great singer there by the name off Jimmy Jack, he was from Scotland.

DEAR SIR,
I WAS POSTED TO BURNISTON BARRACKS IN 1958 TO CLEAR FYLINGDALE MOORS.
I AM TRYING TO GET A PICTURE OF BURNISTON BARRACKS - CAN YOU HELP?
THANKYOU
MR.L.GKEW
I lived at Burniston Barracks (13 Haig Lines) in the early 1950's. Does anyone know if there was a school at the barracks or if we army children attended a local primary school. Like so many army children there is Little paper trail. Dad was APTC and so seconded to various regiments. Little continuity for children.

I have seen a few photos of the barracks on the Internet before it was demolished.
