Pembury Road

A Memory of Tottenham.

Brought up in Tottenham 1948 to1974 - great memories. Bruce Castle Park/ Florida, Bruce Grove and Palace cinema's/ Whitbreads brewery and dray horses/Deans Butchers (fancied Linda). Hardings Bakers - lovely cream buns, Elseys where I got my first football kit, Burgess' Store, Tottenham's Army and Navy then of course the Spurs at White Hart Lane. It was great - playing in the park without any fear. I was a choirboy at All Hallows. We left front door open in summer - just a blind across! Scrumping - got caught in Peter Gallo's garden! Trolley buses, waiting for football papers outside the Red Lion pub on corner of Lansdowne Road. Did a paper round for five years and attended Tottenham Grammar School.

Hello,
I can relate to almost everything you mentioned. Born 1947, I lived in Bruce Castle Road until 1974,
was a choirboy at All Hallows and went to TGS, so our paths must crossed at sometime or other.
I remember all these things used to go to All Hallows girls' school in Pembury Road also the church All Hallows
was in Guides, brownies and youth club. Also took Sunday school I do have some photos of us
when we had photos taken with class. I lived in Creighton Road I had to walk through the cemetery path
to go to Church at All Hallows the Youth Club members had a reunion a few years ago and a few of us
went from Australia, was really lovely to catch up with so many. unfortunately, quite a few have since passed away. Its nice to catch up just so sad no photos of the school or hall someone must have some somewhere
Onley have of people not of the old building.
