A Memory of Wallington.

We moved from Coulsdon to Wallington in 1966 where I attended Collingwood School from 1965-1967, I then spent 3 years away at Boarding School in Caterham, before returning in 1970-1972 to attend Wallington Independent School for boys, which was has since been demolished.
My first girlfriend Carol Anscomb who lived opposite at number 35 used to attend the Wallington Grammar School for Girls, and I used to run out of my school to go and meet her. We would often do our homework together at her parents' house. They were a lovely family, Bill and Ida Anscomb used to take Carol and I out for drives in the country and we would stop and have a picnic tea.
In 1971 the four if us went on holiday to Benidorm, my first overseas holiday it was great and I still have very fond memories of those bygone days, but in 1972 we moved again this time to Kenley.
Carol became a very glamourous flight attendant and she married Peter Richards in 1978 and has two children. In 1996 we met up again and for the next 4 years we remained close friends, but unfortunately lost touch again shortly after I moved to Worthing, which is one of my many regrets in life.
If you ever read this memoir Carol, please call me, you have my numbers.
