More about this scene

The Bridge House Hotel, seen to the left of the bridge, claimed that it was the only top class hotel in Eton. It was demolished in 1964 and a new restaurant has taken its place. Two signs on the bridge must have caused some confusion to boatmen. One on the left reads 'Free Landing' and the one to the right of it reads 'Keep Well Right'.
