A Memory of Woodford Bridge.

I lived there from age 1 something untill I married at St Pauls at 18. My best friend was Rev Wright's daughter, Christine. My school friends were Ann Richards, Joan Saville and Theresa Ancona. xxxxxxDiane

Hi! Diane, my husband Ron lived next door to you for many years and your name crops up from time to time. Did you go abroad to live or was that the Diane across the road?
the Rev. Wright married us and I do remember the Ancona name.
My family moved to Woodford Bridge in 1949 when I was 4. I remember Rev Philip Wright and was friends with his daughter Christine for a while - probably through Sunday School at St Paul's. The vicar had a wonderful collection of old farming tools I seem to recall. I also remember Teresa Ancona and her siblings as they lived next door to us. We moved away from Woodford Bridge in 1964 but a few years ago I went back with my sister Olive and we walked and drove around the area for a bit, rather overwhelmed by the changes that have taken place. I actually called on the Ancona's on a previous visit and Mr Ancona was still living there then. One of my best friends when I was at Primary School (Roding Lane North) lived in Purleigh Avenue - her name was Ann Downing and she had an older brother Terry.
