Haywards of Loders

The Village 1903
Enlarge photo |  More about this photo

John (1813) moved to Berkshire.  Thomas (1787), Robert (1759) and John(1738) are all connected to Loders by being born, baptised, married and buried here, or in surrounding villages.  Their ancestral home one might say.  Still tracing them further via Dorset OPC and BT records.  Collecting any photos related to these ancestors of mine and where they lived.  Photos bring back happy memories and are good records of events.

RE: RE: Haywards of Loders

How strange. Just browsing this site and found 'Haywards of Loders'. One of them, Robert (1759) was my GGGG grandfather. Know there was a family connection with Loders/Shipton Gorge/Bothenhampton, but wasn't expecting to find a direct reference to an ancestor!

RE: RE: Haywards of Loders

Greetings Jill Hayward from Australia.  Seems we may have a common ancester.  Are you into family history and collecting photographic records?  My research is as far as John Hayward, parent of Robert.  Can you provide me with your family tree/exchange family trees?
I have put my family tree on ancestry.com as hayward/dodge/simons/gale/ etc.

RE: RE: Haywards of Loders

I had hoped to hear from distant relative Jill Hayward, bit of a shock I suppose.  I have yet to visit Loders - looks a very charming place.  Gales have been traced to 1500 in Suffolk for those interested.  I wonder how they got to Dorset?  Obviously they didn't stay for 2,000 years in or around the village they were born in unlike some recent DNA discovery last year in the north of England.   Some relatives recently visiting couldn't get over all the sunshine we get here.  Never mind.
