Loveclough Park
I remember riding bikes on Loveclough park in the late night sunshine with Stene. No worries in the world; early 1980s. The place was buzzing with youngsters and not a parent in sight. Freedom; not like now. Kids are not allowed to wander, the park's a disgrace; it's been left to rot by Rossendale Council.

Family History
I am looking for any information about a family called Mccormack, they lived in Stonehome Terrace, then Goodshawfold, then Hamer Avenue. Phyllis Mccormack was in the army in the 1940s, stationed at Catterick army camp (anything on her would be very welcome). Her parents were Michael Mccormack (he died in the First World War), and her mother was Jane Ellen (nee Heys), she married again to a Herbert Meeks. I know it seems I already have info on the family but there is such a lot missing. Phyllis worked at Springbank Mill, Goodshawfold and at Kippax Mill in the 1950s. Any information I would be very grateful for, thank you for reading this.
The Jesters Pub
Hi The names tony conway i now reside in the states and have for the past 30 years,for app 2 or so years i lived and worked in the jesters pub in crawshawbooth,i remember with great affection the people and espiacilly tony and june frame the landlords,they also had a daughter victoria.i also worked for the british united shoe co so travelled to many a shoe factory in the area.i have since coming to the states been back to england and ireland (where i am originally from) many times but not up to lancashire.any info on what happened to the pub and people would be appreciated.

Fisher Hindle Hargreaves Family
Hi, I was trying to trace my family, the last known address I have for them was from the 1911 census which was Newchurch Road in 1936. The father James Fisher died, he was a signal man at one point, he was married to Esther Hindle, they had two children, Emily Fisher and James Fisher. Emily married James Hargreaves. Any info no matter how small would be great.
Newchurch
I lived at on Staghills Road (my maiden name was Taylor) and I went to Newchurch C of E School until 1958. I remember Mrs Roberts and Mrs Barlow, the teachers in the top 2 classes. My favourite time at school was when we were allowed to go across to the field at playtime. Sadly the school was pulled down and replaced by a new one down Dark Lane.
Newchurch was a lovely village, then they went and pulled down the houses on one side of the street. I remember Rothwells Butchers, they made lovely potted meat (Ican still taste it!), Schofields had Home Farm, there was a chip shop, a grocers, a wool shop. The Post Office was further down the village, Joe Ainsworth ran it, I used to ride the pony that he owned. When they altered the village they took away a lot of its character. Easter Sunday
I remember St Mary's church as a child on Easter Sunday, my foster mum was a wonderful dressmaker and she always made myself and her two girls lovely dresses and matching cardigans. Life was so uncomplecated then. I'm hoping to go and visit Haslinden around September so that's one place I will be visiting again.
Hoyles
I would like more info on the Hoyles of Haslingden, plus the Burns family from Accrington, and Baxendale. My great grandfather was a accomplished runner Samuel Brookes Hoyle, and also delivered mail in the locality especially Grane Road. Mr Burns was an accomplished tailor, from Ireland, but died suddenly, I'm interested if anyone knows the circumstances circa that era maybe around 1920; I have quite an extended family in the local area, that I'm interested historically.
I would also be interested in knowing about Randall's Bakery where my grandmother Kathleen Burns (nee Hoyle) worked before she married my grandfather.
And I believe Im related to the Rothwells...year unknown at moment....
