My Parents Were Married Here
My parents were married here in August 1953. My mother was raised in the area; my father was in the RAF and had been brought up in the RAF, so had travelled widely.

RE: RE: My Parents Were Married Here
My parents were married here in 1943, my dad was in the RAF, and mum was in the WAAFS. Our family owned Linton Cottage in Butt Street, the thatched cottage next to the police station ,for many years. We are the Lewises. My grandma and grandad bought the cottage with some insurance money they cashed in in the war. Grandma died, so did Grandad Lewis, and my dad then owned the cottage. Mum got divorced, then someone called Silvya Yeandle who also lived in the village married my dad and they later sold the cottage. I would love to know if anyone knows any history of the cottage, I was born upstairs in March 1944. I'm disapointed that there are no photos of it. My grandparents are buried in the churchyard. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any infomation about the family or the cottage.
