This view is from beside the Ice House, its balcony covered in creeper, looking back down Castle Hill. All on the left beyond the monkey puzzle tree (now gone) has been demolished and the left- hand railings have been renewed. On the right, the house dated 1882 still stands at the corner of East Road, part of the High Town developments of the 1870s onwards.

went to this hotel in the seventies to watch the rock groups that were on anyone remember the group nights at the foxs club
I used to know the young lady who was the receptionist at Boulters Inn in the early 60`s. Her name was Eileen.
The pub on the right is either the Green Dragon or the Reform.
I met my first g/f walking up Castle hill in the 50`s on my way from Tech college Slough. Her name was Pam and she lived in Pownry road.
