Attended Market Rasen Secondary Modern from 1965 to 1969, living in Binbrook I travelled to Market Rasen with Marfleet coaches. My head master was Mr Powell, deputy was Mr 'johnny' Holman, my form teachers were Mrs Davis, Mr Holgate and Mr Linnell. I also knew Mr Fox, Mr Ward, Mr 'jobber' Smith, Mr Allison, Mr Boulton, Mr Brumpton, Mr Butler, Mr Leach, Miss Miller, Mrs Banks, Mrs Hill, Mrs 'Paddy' Petch and Miss Cary, there were other teachers but these are the ones that come to mind. Mr Smith, if memory serves me well died of new pneumonia, he was always out in all weather marking pitches, Mr Linnell was not only my last form teacher but gardening teacher, can not remember which day we had gardening but it was all afternoon, 4 period, the first 3 were spent gardening the last one we spent playing football, cricket or being taught golf. These were different times a totally different era but these teachers you had respect for. John Appleton
