Eric Parker was quite dismissive about Milford, describing it as 'less a village than a road', and having 'some pollarded elms and dusty jasmine'. He also believed that its future would belong to Godalming. He may be right on that point, yet some attractive buildings survive; this scene has hardly changed at all.

My mother was in the WAAFs during WWII. She met my father (an American G.I.) at a dance in Henley. They married in 1944 and after the war, my mother traveled to the United States as a war bride. I was born in Nebraska in April, 1948. In 1951, my mother was aching to visit her parents in England. More likely to be the White Lion, on the right of the picture! Certainly not Milford House 1924!
My mum and dad worked in Milford Chest Hospital in the 50's where they met and married in 1955, and they are still together.
