Saturday Moning Pictures

The Majestic Cinema 1959

I used to go to Saturday morning pictures here in 1959/60. We had only just returned from Australia and this was new to me. I remember going with my cousin & friends - most were quite noisy but I was one of the quieter ones. What ever happened to the Lone Ranger? It seems like yesterday - pity the body doesn't agree!

RE: RE: Saturday Moning Pictures

Hello Cousin Rob - I remember the very distinctive smell inside the cinema. I think it must have been the disinfectant they used , and the first time I went to Saturday morning flicks, clutching my sixpence made me feel very grown up. Also the Hammond organ rising up out of the floor and everyone singing the ABC song.
