Barnfield Wood Close,Park Langley

A Memory of Bromley.

We moved into a brand new home at 3,Barnfield Wood Close,in 1955.
Next door at No 4,theAgombars lived. They built No 1,2,3,and 4,No 5 was built by Mr White in 1959.
The houses in Barnfield Wood Road were full of character,At the corner of Barnfield Wood Road and Red Lodge Road I remember seeing photographers (in 1957) taking photos of the latest Rolls Royce as the home was a replica Chinese Temple,similar to the Chinese Garage at Eden Park Road.
The Agombars were successful builders building Hospitals, even in Ghana,Africa .
At Barnfield Wood Close,No 1 was Thatchers ,Bank Manager,2,Gorings,Scientist who worked on rockets at Woomera,australia,3,Newells,worked for BICC.4,Agombars,builders and 5,White a city of London Tin dealer.
We kids used to go around the Park Langley Golf Course picking up lost balls.
Guy Fawkes night we had a big fire on the empty land between 4 and 5.
